The Importance of Recycling

Sammie Spangler

Recently the Student Council has put out recycling bins. They have been collecting recyclable products once a week. Why is recycling important? How does this help our environment? Where do these products go? Not only is recycling beneficial to the environment, but it’s also beneficial to people. Recycling helps reduce all the pollution caused by waste. According to the website, recycling is also profitable for the economy. Making products from raw materials costs much more than if they were made from recycled products.

Now, for where these products go. Recycled items go to a place called a Material Recovery Facility, or MRF. From there, the products are organized into bins, such as paper, plastic, and glass. They are then used to make new, eco-friendly products.

As you can see, recycling is very valuable to not only the earth but also to you. If we start now, we can have a greener future.
